The Leafies is an international leaf tea competition that launched in 2022.

The awards shine a spotlight on tea producers around the world, helping wholesalers and retailers further promote their teas as award-winning teas. Last year, there were entries from over 50 tea-producing regions, and a judging panel of international professionals based in the UK selected the top gold medal winner from each category, a Japanese black tea from Ocha no Kajihara in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, putting Japanese tea in the spotlight. Some of the award-winning teas, including Ocha no Kajihara's Benifuuki, are available for purchase at the rare tea counter at the flagship store of Fortnum & Mason, a long-established department store in London.
